Lara Harb is an assistant professor at the Near Eastern Studies Department at Princeton University. She received her PhD from New York University’s Department of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies (September 2013) and holds a BA in Comparative Literature from Brown University (2004). She specializes in Classical Arabic Literature and her research focuses on medieval Arabic literary criticism and theory. Her first book (forthcoming with Cambridge University Press), titled Arabic Poetics: Aesthetic Experience in Classical Arabic Literature, looks at medieval Arabic conceptions of poetic beauty.
